For most ingredients, the nutrition values for the labels are calculated using data available in the National Nutrient Database published by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service. If the data for an ingredient, such as an ethnic ingredient, is not available, the nutrition facts provided on that ingredient’s packaging are used. Here are a few notes about the data on the Nutrition Facts labels on PureCurry.com:
- The Nutrition Facts are for a single serving that is calculated based on the number of servings indicated in the recipe.
- The labels include the values for Calories, Total Fat, Saturated Fat, Trans Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Carbohydrates, Fiber, Sugars, and Protein.
- Most ingredients that are significant contributors of calories are included; such as Oil, Meat, Vegetables, Flour, Nuts, Sugar, etc.
- Insignificant nutritional values are left out, such as those for spices.
- The data values for each category are rounded off.
